Borget believes that Apple is “redefining” the MR category with this new device, suggesting that it holds the “most promise in terms of technological capabilities.” However, it is worth noting that Apple didn’t use the term “metaverse” during the product reveal, possibly due to rivalry with Meta’s (formerly known as Facebook) QuestPro headset. Nonetheless, Borget asserts that the Apple VisionPro is not competing with the metaverse but is instead a new device facilitating its broader discovery.

He observed that approximately one out of every three people he spoke to at the NFC Lisbon event were interested in purchasing and trying out the device.
