Chiru Labs, the creators of the highly popular Ethereum-based Azuki NFT collection, has announced the release of 20,000 new NFTs called Azuki Elementals. These profile picture (PFP) NFTs will expand the original anime-themed universe, further developing the Azuki ecosystem. Current Azuki NFT owners were pleasantly surprised with an airdrop of tokens for Azuki Elementals recently, during the “Follow the Rabbit” community event in Las Vegas.
Adding further excitement to the Azuki community, the remaining Elementals will be auctioned in a Dutch sale on Tuesday at 9:20 am PST. Starting at 2 ETH (approximately $3,750) per NFT, the price will gradually decrease every 5 minutes until all available stocks are sold.
It is crucial to note that Azuki Elementals will be allocated during a preferential pre-sale window, which is solely available for current Azuki NFT holders. Existing holders get a 20-minute advantage before the public auction, while Beanz NFT owners (a spin-off collection from Azuki) will have a limited 10-minute window to purchase additional Elementals.
These 20,000 Azuki Elementals NFTs appear to follow the theme of four distinctive kingdoms, each defined by a classical element: fire, water, earth, and lightning. Dubbed “Four Domains, One Garden,” these kingdoms are expected to offer an enthralling and unique mythic landscape within the Azuki community.
The Elementals collection will be randomly ascribed with varying attributes and rarities. Among the most valuable on the secondary market are the “grail” NFTs, which have the rarest traits in the project and can be revealed in any tier.
As a successor to the original Azuki, which attracted over $1 billion in trading and emerged as 2022’s highest-ranking new, original NFT project, Elementals is anticipated to draw massive interest from the NFT devotees. Additionally, the Beanz NFT series contributed to another $273 million in secondary sales.
Capitalizing on the impressive success of Azuki and Beanz NFTs, Chiru Labs has ventured into other realms, confirming a partnership with Line Friends in April. This alliance, involving a dominant cultural presence in Japan, South Korea, and other regions, promises to deliver Azuki- and Beanz-themed content, merchandise, and events in the future.
As new opportunities arise for the Azuki NFT community, the extension through Azuki Elementals brings excitement and potential rewards to existing holders and those looking to join the community alike. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the value and appeal of Elementals, Chiru Labs’ already-proven success in the NFT market with Azuki offers a fair indication that these new tokens may continue propelling the NFT world forward.
