Bad actors are exploiting the AI-based chatbot’s popularity and drawing comparisons to crypto-themed scams. As Meta’s head of information security, Guy Rosen, warns that Chatgpt is fast becoming the “new crypto” for cybercriminals, it’s essential to consider the potential risks and benefits of this evolving technology.

Since March, Meta has detected around ten malware families and more than 1,000 malicious links that pretend to be Chatgpt tools. In some cases, the malware even delivers working Chatgpt functionality while also hiding malicious files. Consequently, it raises important questions about how security measures can be implemented to protect users.
